Join us in collecting history and connecting LGBTQ+ people of all ages through storytelling!

The Generations Project is a place for LGBTQ+ to meet and connect across all generations and backgrounds, to share and preserve our history and tell our stories in our own voices. By revitalizing the oral tradition, we create opportunities for in-person gathering and community-building, ensure the handing down of LGBTQ+ experiences to future generations and uplift marginalized voices.

Your support allows us to continue to collect and share these stories, provide honorariums to our storytellers and one day make our digital archive accessible online.

What We Do:

Live Storytelling Shows

In-Person and Streamed Online!

We bring LGBTQ+ experiences to life and preserve our collective history through the art of storytelling.

Storytelling & Writing Workshops

Free and Accessible to All!

We teach the art of storytelling for free and offer honorariums to all our storytellers. Our writing programs use creative prompts that are fun and easy for any skill level, as another way for people to share their experiences.

Intergenerational Mixers

Mingle with LGBTQ+ People of all ages!

We organize social events and other opportunities for our community to interact and bond across all boundaries of sex, gender and age!

The Genny Awards!

Each year, we bring together our whole community for a red-carpet gala fundraiser awards show extravaganza! In a Grammys style show, our TGP team present the nominations for storytellers from the previous year in categories ranging from “Most Hopeful” to “History Maker”. Video montages of memorable moments from every story, iconic fashions, live music, laughs, drinks, hors d’oeuvres and of course the coveted solid gold Genny Award statuettes themselves, all make for an unforgettable evening that truly highlights the scope of TGP’s yearly impact. It’s a beautiful opportunity to honor all the talented storytellers who make our mission possible, as well as the audiences and supportive community that are equally important to the cause.
